Laser engravers use the concentrated heat of a laser beam to “burn” or “carbonise” the top surface of the work. When used with laserable engraving sheet the job is quickly done and the letter quality is excellent.
In some materials, the laser vaporises the material to a depth dependant on the power and speed used resulting in a ‘cut-in’ image but with no direct contact with the work piece. The laser can cut accurately through cardboard, acrylic, most plastics and rubber. The thickness through which a cut can be made depends on a few factors and our advice should be sought.
Lasers will etch an image onto glass. A rotary attachment allows glassware such as wine glasses to be marked. The laser produces a ‘frosted’ image on glass and the image quality is dependent on the artwork quality.
Stainless steel can be lasermarked by applying a marking paste then lasering the details. The image is good quality and weather resistant. Lettering and/or an images can be put on most painted, colour anodised or powdercoated items.
